Custom homes

Designed around your daily life

Every custom home begins with how a household moves, gathers and rests.

Site and light

We study the sun, the street and the lot before we draw a single wall.

Plans that fit your life

Room by room, we design around how your household actually lives.

Honest materials

Wood, stone and light chosen to age well and feel right underfoot.

Permit-ready drawings

Complete drawing sets prepared for City of Toronto permit and construction.

Our process

From first sketch to finished home

Every custom home moves through the same stages, from first conversation to the day you move in.

  1. Step 1

    Initial consultation

We meet to discuss your site, your household, your budget and your goals, and decide together whether we are the right studio for your custom home.

    Confirm scope and fee

  2. An architect sketching a custom home concept over a site plan in natural daylight
    Step 2

    Concept design

We study your site, test massing and light, sketch options and present a concept design for your custom home that reflects how you plan to live there.

Approve the concept before we proceed

  3. Step 3

    Design development

We refine the floor plan, select materials and finishes, and prepare detailed drawings for your approval, working closely with you through each round of design development until every detail is resolved.

  4. Step 4

    Permit and tender

We submit a complete drawing set to the City of Toronto for permit, and prepare documents your builder can use to price and tender the construction of your home.

  5. An architect in a hard hat reviewing framing on a custom home construction site in Toronto
    Step 5

    Construction administration

We stay involved once construction begins, visiting site, reviewing progress and answering questions from your builder, to make sure the finished custom home matches the drawings we designed together.
